Laundry Lines

When I was a kid I would be outside hanging the wet laundry at 7am. I hated it. Very often my hands would be freezing because it was in the 20's or 30's. When I got home from school it was my job to bring it all in, fold it and put it away.

Nowadays, I long for some lines in the back yard. I wouldn't be out there in the dead of winter but I would use it, you betcha.

I have a rain barrel and compost bin. I use cloth for meal napkins, cleaning up big jobs & small spills and we recycle among other things. When someone asks me if "I'm green" I give them the evil eye. I do these things because I want to be more responsible for the earth God gave us. It helps that I'm saving a few pennies here and there also.

I can't take global warming or going green seriously AT ALL. I don't take those following the "movement" seriously either. I just can't. When I'm given the FREEDOM to care for my laundry in a natural way and when they get rid of the packaging that you need pliers and hedge clippers to open then I'll listen for a minute.
